Why newspaper has 4 colour dots ?

These 4 dots are called colour bars. Each colour in printing is a combination of Cyan (C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y) and Black (K).
Some sources say that “K” in CMYK stands for key because in four-color printing, cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully aligned with the black plate which is the key.

Newspapers are printed at extremely high speeds, So this is impossible to cheak all these newspapers physically.
These dots are ‘printer marks’. Dots ensure the image quality/printing quality.

More desired colours can be obtained by adding the right proportion of these four colors. To print an image, all these color plates are placed separately on a page and are in the same line while printing. If photographs are blurred in newspapers, it means that the plates of these four colors have overlapped.

For printing the newspaper, the printer needs to lay the color plate of these four colors in perfect alignment so that the image quality is crisp. If not, the images will appear blurred and/or with funny colors.
